We’re looking for an ambitious and driven individual to join the West Midlands Programme Team as a Flood and Coastal Risk Management (FCRM) Programme Advisor.
Our workload varies day to day, but you can frequently expect to be involved in:

- Collaboration with internal teams and partner organisations in order to deliver schemes that help to reduce flood risk throughout the area.
- Gathering and interpreting data from a range of sources to review and report on project performance ensuring that our targets are met.
- Assisting with the preparation of documentation for Regional Flood and Coastal Committee / Sub Committee Meetings as required.
- Leading and supporting on other (non-financial) elements of the FCRM Programme e.g., Carbon, Sustainability and Efficiencies.

Attention to detail and good communication is key
Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. As such, you will also be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.
- The team- Our team supports the delivery of the government’s FCRM 6-year capital programme which aims to better protect 336,000 homes from flooding. We provide a variety of services depending on the specific needs of our customers ensuring that all funding raised is invested wisely in order to achieve the maximum outcomes possible. We are a friendly team with a real passion for the work we do which is often challenging, and fast paced, yet highly rewarding.
- Experience/skills required- We are looking for individuals who are self-motivated and have excellent data and information management skills. Through experience to date you must demonstrate the ability to:

- Prioritise tasks and deliver work to tight deadlines.
- Produce high-quality written reports conveying complex messages in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences.
- Use a number of MS Office programmes, in particular Excel. Experience of working with large sets of data would also be advantageous.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships across organisations.
- Work on your own initiative and as part of a dispersed team
- Contact and additional information- This post can be based in any office throughout the West Midlands. Regular travel across the whole of the catchment may be necessary on occasion. Therefore, a valid UK driving licence is required.
