**About the Trust**

At South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust we provide the widest range of NHS mental health services in the UK. We also provide substance misuse services for people who are addicted to drugs and alcohol. Our staff serve a local population of nearly two million people. We have more than 230 services including inpatient wards, outpatient, and community services. We provide inpatient care for over 5,000 people each year and we treat more than 45,000 patients in the community in Lambeth, Southwark, Lewisham, and Croydon. As well as serving the communities of south London, we provide more than 50 specialist services for children and adults across the UK and beyond.

**What you’ll be responsible for**:

- Processing patient letters and reports, distribution of general correspondence and reports, diary management of clinical staff and processing data protection requests.
- Ordering stocks and supplies whenever required and to make sure that there is cost-efficient use of resources in the team budget
- Organise and attend meetings, taking accurate minutes, entering them onto computer record systems and distribution. To participate in business and other team meetings regarding team planning
- Participate in managing health and safety issues relating to the building, reporting issues to estates and facilities, undertake environmental checks and act as fire warden and health and safety champion (after appropriate training). To keep all notice boards neat, up to date and fire compliant with helpful, relevant information.

**You’ll learn the following whilst working at the trust**:
1. An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS

2. Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times

3. A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation

**You’ll have the following skills/experience**:

- Excellent communication skills
- both verbal and written
- Microsoft office skills
- Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
- Previous admin experience
- Previous NHS experience
- System Knowledge
- EPJS (desirable, training available)
