We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Assistant to join our Integrated Pharmacy team at HMP Wakefield, category A men’s Prison located in Wakefield, West Yorkshire. The site had an experience pharmacy team, and have a wide range of opportunities for you to develop your skills and your career, which include both internal and external options for development and learning and access to our apprenticeship schemes.

**Shift hours**

8am-4pm

**Salary**

This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary up to £27,195**_ _**per annum - depending on experience.

**What you'll be doing**:
As a Pharmacy Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. You will
- Complete general dispensary duties and stock management
- Be working as an active member of the Pharmaceutical team to ensure delivery of the pharmaceutical service.
- Provide a timely and efficient service to the prison wings
- Receive prescriptions and stick returns from wing based clinical areas
- Collect orders from suppliers from the Main Gate and arrange collection of return
- Participate in dispensing of prescriptions.

Qualifications required
- NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills/equivalent or working towards
- Medicines handing experience desirable not essential
- Level 2 English and Maths or equivalent
- A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
- Excellent communication skills
- Good IT skills and IT literacy
- Ability to work within a busy environment Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures
