London, United Kingdom Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) Full time

Working closely and hosted within MOPAC the London Violence Reduction Unit (VRU) is focused on preventing and reducing violence through early intervention and prevention. It is a high-profile Unit and a top priority reporting directly to the Mayor. The VRU use their expertise to work in partnership with communities, councils, the NHS, public health, the police, schools and colleges and charities, to co-ordinate efforts and bring about change. The VRU is a voice and champion for young people, families and communities.

As part of the MOPAC Correspondence, Enquiries and FOI Team you will have a unique position in engaging with Londoners as this function manages one of our direct contact points with our key stakeholders.

You will be working at the heart of the organisation in Private Office under the supervision of the Secretariat Manager and with senior leaders, and internal and external stakeholders. The role is responsible for handling all forms of FOIs and correspondence professionally, adhering to high standards and protecting our reputation through responding in a timely and proportionate manner in accordance with our statutory responsibilities and our own business processes.

We are looking for a committed individual who will support us in achieving our ambitions and to work with us in further developing the service.

Lead and manage an effective, professional and seamless process around correspondence, enquiries and FOI requests.
Oversee incoming correspondence, FOIs and enquiries. Ensuring all correspondence, FOIs and enquiries are handled correctly and completed within the statutory time frames.
Ensure the effective working of the Private Office correspondence, FOIs and enquiries team and collaborating across team roles as necessary.
This role will feed statistics into all relevant MOPAC meetings and will ensure effective management of the system.
To deputise for the Secretariat Manager as and when necessary.
