**The Role**:
The Lab Support & Logistics Administrator comprises functions within (1) the laboratory and (2) the facility logistics.
The laboratory element relates to the manufacture, bottling, labelling and packing of calibration solutions and is likely to form half of the working week with the other half being associated to goods handling and its associated logístical and administrative tasks (calibration solutions, repair and demonstration items). To be based at the new facility, in or local to Tunbridge Wells.
**Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities**:
Laboratory Tasks:
- Prepare, verify, bottle, label and issue sucrose solutions according to the schedule.
- Decant, label and issue calibration oils along with calibration certificates and safety data sheets to satisfy Sales Orders and internal requests.
- Decant, bottle, seal, label and pack (including multi-pack, addition of pipettes and certificates) AG fluids for sale to customers (as and when defined by the Technical Services Manager).
- Calibrate quartz control plates in accordance with laboratory procedures and ship accordingly.
Logistics & Admin Tasks:
- Process incoming goods from customers and suppliers within the UK to the local facility logistics.
- In association with the off-site logístical team, process incoming goods from overseas including the provision of customs clearance support if necessary and associated financial auditing.
- In association with the off-site warehouse, handle procurement of raw materials for the laboratory, special OEM suppliers and Xylem partners.
- Dispatch laboratory and service orders from the facility logistics.
- In association with the off-site logístical team, book courier deliveries/collections and arrange airfreight shipments.
- Control, handle pack and ship Dangerous/Hazardous goods.
- Support the off-site logístical team in queries relating to orders, shipments, and export/import issues where relevant to the local facility logistics.
- General cover where required for service returns (Health & Safety Forms), Lab admin and logistics duties.
**Education, Experience, Skills**:
- Good communicational and organizational attributes.
- Teamwork and personal skills.
- A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) is essential.
- Working knowledge of Customer Relationship Management systems such as Sales Force (CRM) and ERP systems.
**Physical Demands**:
- Lifting and moving boxes (instruments for repair & demonstrations).
**Work Environment**:
- Mostly office based with some work being carried out in our lab & logistics areas, training, and seminar rooms.
- Travel required only for offsite training, also possibly to other Xylem sites for collaboration.
