**Job summary**:
As an Emergency Planning Officer (EPO) the post holder will aid the delivery of the Trusts Emergency Planning Work Programme. This will provide experience and exposure to understanding how one of the largest NHS Acute Trusts functions and an opportunity to work with UHB colleagues at a Strategic, Tactical and Operational level.

The post holder will be central to supporting the Trust in achieving and maintaining compliance against the Civil Contingencies Act 2004, and any associated Emergency Preparedness, Resilience & Response (EPRR) guidance, including NHS England's (NHSE) Core Standards for EPRR.

**Main duties, tasks & skills required**:
The postholder will support the Trust by reviewing and updating several existing plans, supporting the roll-out of training and exercising programmes across the Trust and get involved in the response to any potential incidents or emergencies. This means being able to multi-task, produce and maintain robust documentation and working across multiple sites and clinical delivery groups.

The postholder will provide programme and administrative support to the team to ensure delivery of projects. You will also support the team in coordinating all communications for external partners including commissioners and regulators many of which are time sensitive requirements and need to be treated with utmost confidence and professionalism.

**Qualifications**:
**Essential**:

- Degree level qualification in Emergency Planning or similar field as well as significant knowledge and experience in a relevant EPRR field to post graduate level.
- Qualification in Training/Education or equivalent
- Project Management qualification / demonstrative experience of supporting /leading the delivery of project management.

**Desirable**:

- Diploma in Health Emergency Planning (DipHEP)

**Experience**:
**Essential**:

- Detailed knowledge of EPRR legislation, including the Civil Contingencies Act 2004
- Working within and with multi
- disciplinary teams and multi-agency environments
- Supporting the delivery of projects across an organisation
- Experience of managing risks and reporting
- Proven experience of writing reports to a high level
- Experience of developing and reviewing emergency and business continuity plans and procedures in line with local and national guidance
- Experience of EPRR working within the NHS or Public Sector
- Experience of performing risk assessments
- Experience of carrying out Business Impact Analysis
- Experience of designing, delivering, and evaluating tests or exercises of emergency and business continuity plans
- Experience of responding to incidents/actual emergencies

- Ability to prioritise and organise large volume of work with frequently changing priorities and work systematically towards deadlines.
