**Job Title: Support Secretary**

**Location: Salford Royal Hospital, Stott Lane, M6 8HD**

**Hours: Full Time**

**What you’ll be responsible for**:

- Scanning and filing of paperwork.
- Assist with locating histology slides for MDT meetings.
- Sorting and delivering incoming and outgoing mail.
- Transcribe histology and post-mortem reports into Laboratory Information Management System (Telepath). This may involve audio-transcription using G2 Speech Report.
- May be required to answer general telephone enquiries.
- Meet and greet external visitors to the department in a professional and polite manner.
- Attend and contribute to departmental meetings, team briefs etc.

**You’ll learn the following whilst working at the trust**:
1. An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS

2. Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times

3. A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation

**You’ll have the following skills/experience**:

- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have audio typing experience.
- Work as a team member.
- Ability to organise work independently and adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- An ability to communicate with people at all levels.
- Excellent telephone manner including good listening skills.
- Good attention to detail
- Willingness to learn new skills.
- Previous audio-transcription experience.
