**Spire Healthcare Ltd**, a leading provider of private healthcare services, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Recovery Practitioner (ODP) for a temporary position at **Spire Edinburgh Murrayfield Hospital**. Located at 122 Corstorphine Road, Edinburgh, Edinburgh, EH12 6UD, this state-of-the-art facility offers a wide range of medical and surgical treatments.

As a Recovery Practitioner (ODP), you will play a crucial role in the preoperative and postoperative care of patients undergoing various surgical procedures. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the smooth running of the recovery area, monitoring patients' vital signs, managing pain relief, and assisting with patient discharge. This temporary position starts on 02/02/2024 and ends on 02/02/2024.

Key responsibilities:

- Provide high-quality care and support to patients before and after surgery.
- Assist in the preparation and organization of the recovery area.
- Monitor patients' vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen saturation.
- Administer appropriate pain relief medications to ensure patients' comfort.
- Assist with patient mobilization and rehydration.
- Ensure patient safety and confidentiality at all times.
- Collaborate effectively with the surgical team, anesthetists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of care plans.
- Document and communicate accurate and concise patient information.

To excel in this role, you should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as you will be interacting with patients, their families, and healthcare professionals. You must have a compassionate and empathetic approach, providing reassurance and comfort to patients throughout their recovery journey. Attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment are also essential.

**Requirements**:

- Registered Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) with a valid professional registration.
- Prior experience in a similar role, preferably within a surgical setting.
- Sound knowledge of perioperative care and recovery procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
