Location: Hybrid - flexibility to work from home and at any of our main hubs (London, Bristol, Manchester and Milton Park - Oxfordshire)

About the role:
Our designers work across the UX spectrum, following a user-centred design process. From discovery and definition to development and delivery, you will play a crucial part ensuring we are building the right things and building things right.

As a UX Designer you will be involved in the design and development of a range of products for Open Athens, working alongside the UX team and product managers to translate business requirements into UX deliverables consistent with our overall UX strategy, and help evolve that strategy.

We are seeking Mid to Senior weight designer to help us lead the way in crafting great user experiences from start to finish. You'll be a pro in UX and UI tools, taking charge of tricky projects and making sure they shine. Teamwork is key as you work closely with others, using creative design and agile methods. Your impact goes beyond projects - you'll smartly improve our product and boost efficiency.

What you’ll be doing:

- Using your passion for design to collaborate with different disciplines across the business, working closely with developers, designers, analysts, and product managers to explore, build and ship your designs.
- Creating interaction prototypes, wireframes, user flows, storyboards, and sketches that help us shape intuitive and accessible products.
- Running testing sessions to better understand user behaviour across our portfolio.
- Creating user-centred, innovative designs supported by market analysis, data, customer feedback, and user research.
- Driving alignment with stakeholders and teams through collaborative design techniques and facilitates agile events.

What we are looking for:

- Proficient in the entire UX/UI process, tools, and methods, with mastery in specific areas.
- Relevant experience as a UX/product designer with demonstrable track record of complex design solutions.
- Excellent existing portfolio in UX and UI design projects and the ability to present this during an interview.
- The ability to listen, influence and communicate with people from a wide range of backgrounds, including product managers and development teams.
- Experience delivering impactful strategic enhancements to products and services, elevating operational effectiveness, and fostering organisational maturity in design and research.
- Ability to lead in undefined, complex, and broad-reaching projects from inception to completion.
- Able to work independently as well as collaboratively with others to achieve shared goals.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new situations, solve problems, and develop new skills.
