**Finance Admin - 30 hours per week, term time, 16 months contract**

We have a lovely organisation in Skipton looking for temporary Maternity cover within their finance team. The Finance Admin role will process weekly payments, deal with internal persons, and generally support the wider team. Our client requires an independent and organised individual preferably with some finance experience.

The role would suit someone wanting to work part time within term time.

Role title: Finance Admin

Salary**:Pro rata £14,779 per annum**

£21,063 per annum

Location: Skipton

Contract: 12 months

Working hours: 30 hours per week, term time only 40 weeks, (paid 45 weeks)

Flexible between Monday and Friday

Reports to: Head of Finance

**Primary Responsibility**

Internal Administration
- To assess eligibility and reason for finance entitlement based on policies.
- Process travel payments.
- Facilitate access to free meals.
- Process other third party payments.
- Check attendance each half term.
- Direct support for internal contacts.
- Keep people updated to changes for claims.
- Communicate with other key agency workers and internal staff.
- Other support which may arise as frameworks change.

**Secondary Support Role**

Purchase Ledger
- To enter purchase invoices on the purchase ledger, collate & process supplier payments and maintain financial control of the purchase ledger.

Sales Ledger
- To enter sales invoices on the sales ledger, produce and despatch sales invoices and reminder letters to debtors

**Miscellaneous and Team Responsibilities**
- To work flexibly as an effective team member within the department;
- To improve and develop financial systems and procedures to enhance efficiency;
- To liaise effectively with the organisation;
- To maintain a tidy working environment by sorting and filing all relevant paperwork in a logical and systematic manner on an ongoing basis;
- To participate in an Appraisal scheme and undertake professional updating/staff development as required to meet the needs of the organisation;
- You will be expected to be fully conversant with the organisations range of equality and diversity and safe guarding policies and procedures, to ensure the health, safety and welfare of all people;
- Any other duties commensurate with grade and status as may reasonably be requested.

**ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS**
- Ability to work independently
- Minimum educational qualifications, GCSE Grade A*-C or equivalent in Maths and English;
- High level of numeracy with attention to detail;
- Proficiency in the use of spreadsheets;
- Ability to relate to young people, with an interest in their future development;
- Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, and a pleasant telephone manner;
- Excellent customer service skills;
- Ability to assimilate and present full and accurate information, both verbally and in written format, in a clear and non-confrontational manner;
- Ability to deal with personal information in a confidential and sensitive manner;
- Experience of planning, organising and prioritising work to meet pre-determined deadlines;
- Previous experience of undertaking similar financial control duties;
- **DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS**
- Accounts qualification to AAT level 2;
- Experience of computerised accounting systems;
- Ability to process a high volume of paper-based transactions with accuracy;
- Willingness and ability to work on own initiative with mínimal supervision, and also to function as part of a small team;
- Knowledge of accounting concepts and practices;
- Experience of year end accounting procedures;
