We are seeking a motivated and curious Research Assistant to join our Research and Innovation Department. As a Research Assistant in KMPT’s R&I team you will be working on a coastal communities study, with a particular focus on dementia, as well as supporting the wider activities across the R&I department.

Coastal communities have some of the worst health outcomes in England, with low life expectancy and high rates of many major diseases, including dementia (Chief Medical Officer’s Annual Report 2021). Despite these stark findings, research to date has focused on more populous and central areas, meaning that limited data are available about factors that affect health and wellbeing in coastal communities. Even with the lengthy coastline in Kent, coastal communities remain under-represented in research.

The dementia research programme in Kent is growing, necessitating pro-active inclusion of this community to ensure that their needs are accounted for within the research programme and its outcomes.
