**Job description**:
Working alongside senior colleagues, our Head of Service Transition, Change and Improvement will have responsibility for ensuring that the Transition and Change Strategy are adhered to throughout the Project and Programme Lifecycles.

You will actively ensure complex solutions are successfully transitioned from Design to Operational usage, working closely with and coordinating activities across projects, with various stakeholders across the Agency and working with suppliers.

There will be opportunity for you to shape and drive key improvement projects to enhance service.

As the owner of the processes, you will ensure successful delivery of beneficial changes with minimum disruption to IT services. You will be considered as a trusted partner across the IT directorate and wider Agency in representing the IT strategy and MCAs goal in delivering excellent customer service and creating an environment and providing the tools, to empower and enable our people to be the best they can be to achieve our outcomes.

Role responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
**Service Transition and Change**:

- Develop and implement service transition strategies and processes.
- Coordinate with project teams, service owners, and stakeholders to define clear transition requirements.

**Team Leadership, Management and Collaboration**:

- Lead and develop a team of service transition, change management, and continual improvement professionals.
- Inspiration the wider Agency to promote the benefits of Change across IT and the Agency.
- Act as the deputy to the Head of IT Service Operations as required.

**Continual Improvement**:

- Lead the development and implementation of a ‘best-in-class’ continuous improvement strategy.
- Identify opportunities for service enhancement and efficiency gains.

**Person specification**:
**About You**

We require the following:

- Understanding of service management principles and practices.
- Experience of working with different project methodologies including Agile, Waterfall, DevOps and Hybrid models.
- Proficient at translating information from a range of sources to present advice/recommendations with clarity and certainty to senior colleagues.
- Demonstrable experience of Service Transition and Change and Config environments, practices models.
- Demonstrable experience of continual improvement processes.

**Additional Information**

This role will be based in either the Southampton HQ or Fareham office. MCA supports flexible working and operates a hybrid working model between home and office for this role, giving you greater flexibility over where and when you work. Details of the arrangement will be discussed further with your line manager.
