**Job Description - Antenatal & Parent-Infant Mental Health Support Coordinator**

**Reporting To**: Family Support Manager

**Hours**: 36 hours per week.

**Salary**: NJC 12 - 20 (Currently £24,496 - £28,371) pro rata

**Location**: Ryecroft Hall, Audenshaw and across Tameside

**Purposes of the job**

This role will involve working as part of the Home-Start Perinatal & Parent Infant Mental Health Team

(and part of the wider Family Hubs service in Tameside) to support expectant parents to prepare for the arrival of baby both practically and emotionally.

You will also work to support families in strengthening their relationship with their baby as part of the

Parent-Infant Mental Health pathway. Working with parents who have mild to moderate mental health needs you will provide direct support and coordinate our volunteers, in close partnership with specialist services, forming a vital conduit for ensuring that family’s needs are identified and met at the earliest opportunity.

You will be required to work with the family support management team as appropriate and operate in accordance with HOST’s Strategic Plan, legal obligations and the organisation’s Governing Document and Quality Assurance Standards to deliver services, engaging with external partners as appropriate.

You will uphold good safeguarding practice and ensure that families receive the highest quality of timely support. As you will be supporting families across Tameside, you will need your own transport and to be able to travel to these areas.

**Main Responsibilities**
- Developing referral pathways with maternity services and with Perinatal and Parent Infant Mental

Health (Early Attachment Service) teams;
- To responsively deliver a case load of high-quality support to identified families via fully trained home visiting volunteers.
- Receiving referrals, assessing needs of families, and matching them to volunteer support
- Recruit, train, and support volunteers - contributing to the development of new ante-natal training as required by the Head of Family Support;
- Liaising with Home-Start’s baby bank service to help vulnerable families to prepare practically and secure essential equipment;
- Work in close partnership with the developing Family Hubs service across the borough;
- Ensure close working relationships with HOST’s PIMH (Parent Infant Mental Health) teams including our perinatal peer support groups, and with infant feeding and Dad Matters;
- Promote HOST externally by ensuring appropriate liaison, networking and communication with referrers, professionals, community leaders and organisations
- Undertake any other duties that may be required to discharge the role and support the organisation;
