**What to expect**

Based at our principal design and engineering centre in Gaydon (CV35 0RR), offering a hybrid working model, as Strategic Buyer, you will be responsible for managing specific commodities on a global scale.

Your duties will include analysing market and sourcing strategies, creating a Strategic Commodity Dossier, and leading the development of new suppliers. You will also manage suppliers, conduct Supplier Business Reviews, and ensure that JLR's Global Commodity Strategy is effectively deployed. You will work closely with regional delivery teams and engage with specialists in the Purchasing Function as needed. Additionally, you will act as a conduit for cross-functional working across several key functions within JLR.

**Key Performance Indicators**
- Delivering the Strategic Commodity Dossier/Commodity Business Plan on time and completely
- Assessing BiW's current and new supply base
- Defining sourcing negotiation tactics for new business
- Planning for JLR's production continuity with strategic suppliers
- Exploring technology innovations by attending external trade shows
- Negotiating existing contract conditions for annualised supply contracts
- Managing supplier performance.

**What you'll need**

**Knowledge, Skills and Experience**

Essential:

- Degree qualified or equivalent experience in defining and creating strategies.
- Capability to create high-quality long-term purchasing strategies.
- A strong communicator with the ability to communicate effectively with key stakeholders to influence cross-functional engagement.
- Translating analytical results into detailed, robust actionable recommendations to the business
