Ward 3, Respiratory Medicine is a 30 bedded medical unit where we care for patients with a diverse range of Respiratory disease and conditions. This area has an experienced and committed nurse and multi disciplinary team, who take pride in their high quality care delivery and care of every patient with person centred focus as we strive to ensure that the experience of every one in our care is the best we can achieve.

We currently have an exciting new vacancy for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who wants to join our team as a Trainee Assistant Practitioner.

Within NHS Tayside we are expanding opportunities for Health Care Support Workers to develop and progress into the role of an Assistant Practitioner. These are new, exciting and innovative roles supported with education and training from both the NHS Tayside Practice Development Team and Dundee College. Successful applicants will be supported to complete a Professional Development Award SCQF level 8 at Dundee College.

As an Assistant Practitioner you will be working at the heart of our multidisciplinary teams delivering high quality, patient-centred care within Respiratory Medicine. You will work closely with an RN mentor who will support and supervise you through this training framework, and you will also work closely with the wider Respiratory Nurse Team. You must work well in a high pressure environment and have the ability to adapt to challenging situations.

Your initial induction program will be followed by a number of professional development opportunities, including clinical skills and on-going comprehensive online learning hub.

Hours of work are: 37.5 hours per week. You will be expected to work a variety of shifts, including weekends.
