Truro, United Kingdom Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Passionate about Dialectical Behaviour Therapy? Committed to offering a high quality DBT service? Are you a DBT supervisor looking for a new challenge? Then come join us as a DBT Professional Lead in the Complex Emotional Difficulties Team.

This is a newly created post hosted in the Complex Emotional Difficulties Team (CEDT) Clinical Leadership Structure and has been created to enhance and strengthen the clinical leadership and management team. We are looking for an energetic and passionate professional lead to contribute to developing comprehensive DBT provision in Cornwall Foundation Trust, informed by a cutting-edge evidence base. There will be a key focus on quality improvement to enhance services.

This is a key role within the Psychology/Psychological Services line and the post-holder will be expected to deliver innovative services that are responsive and provide the best value for the population of Cornwall, their family, and their carers. Therefore, the post-holder must be able to demonstrate a commitment and passion for achieving the best health care and support for the people of Cornwall. The post holder will become a core member of a committed, passionate and supportive clinical leadership and management team in the CEDT.

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the systematic provision of high-quality DBT provision in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. The DBT professional lead provides leadership and clinical supervision for clinical staff working with people with complex emotional difficulties, contributes to the development and maintenance of systems for clinical and professional supervision, including systems for effective recruitment, professional appraisal, and identification of CPD needs across the service in consultation with the Clinical Supervisors, Clinical Lead, Operational Lead and Team managers. The post holder will contribute to service development and delivery across the service and support the Clinical Lead and Operational Lead and Team Managers in the operational delivery of DBT ensuring it meets national guidance and local key performance indicators such as treatment timescales. You will work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice within the service, utilise research skills, as a major requirement of the job, for audit, policy and service development and research and propose and implement policy changes which may impact on other professionals within the area served by the team.

We’re an NHS community and mental health provider Trust based in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. We deliver community and hospital-based care to improve people’s physical and mental health. We also provide specialist support to people with dementia or a learning disability.

We are a people organisation and people matter to us. As part of the team, you'll help support the health and wellbeing of the people who live and visit this beautiful part of the UK.
Over 4,000 people make up the Trust. This includes doctors, nurses, therapists, plus admin and support staff.

We work in people's homes, in community clinics and bases. Some staff work from one of our 13 community hospitals. Our aspiration is to have great people, provide great care, be a great place to work and a great partner.

Just over 532,000 people live here. A third of people who live in Cornwall are supported by acute hospital services in Devon. As a result, we also work closely with our partners in Devon. In the summer, and during other holidays lots of people choose to visit the area. This increases the numbers of people who use our services.

For full information of the roles and responsibilities of this role, please see the attached job description and person specification.
