**Job Title: Learning Facilitator**
Reports to: Learning Officer

**Salary**: £10.45ph
Hours Worked: Flexible/Casual: as and when required

Clifton Suspension Bridge Visitor Centre tells the story of the history and maintenance of the bridge, delivering a programme of tours, workshops and events that help visitors engage with its past.

Learning Facilitators will support our Learning Officer in delivering engaging activities for primary and secondary school children as well as family audiences on a casual basis (as and when required) during the summer season (April-October). Learning Facilitators will lead face-to-face historic tours, STEM workshops and digital sessions as well as completing behind-the-scenes tasks.

The post is an active role based at Clifton Suspension Bridge and includes delivering tours of the bridge outdoors in variable weather conditions, working underground and use of ladders as well as independent research into related topics to build up a portfolio of facilitator-led sessions. The role is initially for one year.

We are looking for responsible, reliable and confident individuals who can respond quickly to changing situations and communicate to a variety of audiences and age groups with enthusiasm and passion. Full training will be provided.

**Responsibilities**:
1. Deliver tours and education workshops to a range of audiences across formal and informal settings
- Lead and deliver tours and educational packages for all Key Stages, FE and HE groups and family groups
- Meet and greet schools and groups on arrival and manage the time of those visiting the bridge, ensuring they switch between sessions on time
- Take responsibility for the health and safety of groups undertaking Hard Hat

Experiences
- Lead live online learning sessions
- Prepare and set up everything needed for workshop sessions, then tidy away and store safely (e.g.: moving chairs and tables, preparing craft materials, etc)
- Capture performance/evaluation information through evaluation forms and feed back developmental comments or changes to the Learning Officer

2. Assist in the research and development of formal and informal learning programmes.
- Learn the history and stories of the Clifton Suspension Bridge, keeping up to date with new developments and maintenance activities
- Contribute towards the development of educational resources relating to the

National Curriculum or other schemes of learning
- Contribute towards the development of new outreach and access projects/activities to attract new or non-traditional audiences to the Bridge

3. Participate in evaluation and training
- Attend training relating to the venue and its history to attain White Badge Guide certification
- Implement Safeguarding and Health & Safety policies, cultivating a safe learning environment and ensuring emergencies or unexpected situations are responded to appropriately and effectively

4. Work to protect children while on-site

**Job Skills & Qualifications**

**Required**
- Excellent oral communication skills, with the ability to adapt delivery style to meet audience needs
- Experience of teaching, or delivering tours to variety of groups including schools or families
- Interest in Heritage and Museums
- Ability to both work effectively as part of a team and make decisions independently
- A reliable approach, with good organisational and timekeeping skills
- Flexibility around working hours

**Preferred**
- Full driving license
- Experience engaging with children (in any capacity), or performing, acting or storytelling
- Experience of working with people across a broad range of learners, including those with special educational needs or disabilities

**Job Types**: Part-time, Zero hours contract
