**Who we’re looking for.**

We’re looking for someone to join our high-quality team of payroll professionals and play a vital part in ensuring the smooth running of our UK payroll. You will be a driven self-stater, who likes to use their initiative, thinks independently and can be self-reliant. Your methodical approach, open-mindedness, and eagerness to learn will be instrumental in your success.

The UK payroll is managed in-house using third party provider software and you will work closely with the wider HR team to achieve legal compliance and process efficiency in your day-to-day work.

Your strong analytical skills and ability to quickly learn and adapt to new processes and concepts will be highly valued in this role.

In addition to supporting the running of the UK payroll, you will also support payroll activities in some of our overseas territories such as Chile, Ireland, Mexico, South Africa and UAE. This will involve liaising with relevant third-party payroll providers and ensuring effective communication and coordination to meet monthly deadlines.
Prior experience in payroll processing or a related field is preferred but not required.

**The team.**

You’ll be a joining a team of experienced, dedicated and supportive payroll professionals who, as part of the wider Reward, Wellbeing and Inclusion team, continuously deliver work to a very high standard, providing exceptional service to our employees.

**What you’ll do**:

- Support the processing of payroll for around 3,700 UK employees, plus directors and expats;
- Be involved in the processing of all aspects of monthly and annual payroll cycles;
- Input and check payroll data;
- Investigate and resolve payroll errors, working with the wider HR team to do this;
- Answer queries from employees, the HR team and the Finance team;
Complete monthly payroll journals;
- Raise third party payments and support the invoicing process;
Produce annual P11Ds;
- Support annual audit processes;
- Help manage the external payroll provider relationship;
- Work on the implementation of changes due to legislation or internal process updates;
- Help ensure compliance with legal requirements, such as tax regulations, employment laws, and data protection regulations;
- Support ad hoc HR projects and provide ad hoc reporting as required; and
Support payroll activities in Chile, Ireland, Mexico, South Africa and UAE.

**The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need**:

- Some payroll or HR experience working within the financial services industry;
- Awareness of purpose of payroll function and how it operates;
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously;
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion; and

**The knowledge, experience and qualifications that will help**:

- Knowledge of payroll legislation, regulations, and principles of best practice;
- Prior experience working on UK payrolls and some international knowledge;
- Proficient in using payroll software, in particular experience of SD Worx;
- Experience of improving processes to make them as effective and efficient as possible;
- Third party payroll provider management experience; and
- Ability to interpret changes in legislation and incorporate these into processes.
