Islington Council offers a wide range of high-quality apprenticeships. Our apprenticeships combine working in a great job, with training, development, and a competitive salary. You will be given dedicated time in your working week to focus on your studies. You will also have access to a network of colleagues from within the organisation and tutors to support your learning.

The digital marketer apprenticeship is an 18-month opportunity to work closely with Islington Council’s digital communications team. We are responsible for planning and delivering creative and high-quality campaigns across digital channels. Your duties will include planning and implementing digital campaigns, analysing campaign performance, and writing social media posts. You will gain an understanding of the work of the team and will work in a supported learning environment whilst working towards a nationally recognised level 3 digital marketer apprenticeship.
- Be aged 16 or above and
- Be an Islington resident or
- Islington care leaver or
- Islington secondary school leaver in the last 12 months

You will also need to satisfy the following course entry requirements:

- Pass the course entry tests for example in Maths and English

Dates
- Closing date: Sunday 3rd September 2023 at 23:59
- Interview day: week commencing Monday 18th September 2023
- Apprenticeship start date: Autumn 2023

Working as a Digital Marketer Apprentice for the council you will:

- Produce creative written and visual content such as videos
- Respond to customer requests on our digital channels
- Share your ideas on how we can creatively communicate with audiences
- Use data to analyse the performance of our channels

**As part of your role you will**:

- Complete a level 3 digital marketer apprenticeship qualification.
- Study maths and english if you have not already achieved a GCSE or level 2 equivalent.
- Participate in the council’s apprenticeship network and various development activities.
- Have access to a buddy/mentor.

After you have successfully completed your apprenticeship, you will have gained valuable workplace experience and attained your level 3 qualification. This will improve your chances of finding work within the council, with other employers or help you move on to a higher-level apprenticeship.
- Undertake a development programme leading to alevel 3 digital marketer apprenticeship qualification.
- Use the dedicated time given to complete studies and coursework.
- Actively participate in your own development. This includes carrying out duties of your role and completing coursework within agreed deadlines. 
- Written communication: deliver written content tailored to target audiences across a variety of channels.
- Video and imagery: film and edit engaging video content and source relevant imagery.
- Content management: update content on the council's website and microsites using content management systems.
- Council standards: meet the council's writing style, brand guidelines and accessibility requirements in all communications.
- Data: measure and evaluate the success of digital marketing activities and provide recommendations and insights to others.
- Research: research new digital opportunities such as channels, technologies and approaches to reach target audiences and recommend these to the team.
- Problem-solving: identifying and resolving any problems with our digital channels, for example resolving issues with broken links on the website.
- Constructively take part in meetings, supervision, seminars, and other events designed to improve communication.
- Use information technology systems to carry out duties in the most efficient and effective manner.
- Achieve personal performance targets, as agreed by your line manager.
- Carry out duties and responsibilities in accordance with the council’s customer care standards.
- Be committed to the council’s ambitions and CARE values.
- Undertake other duties compatible with your learning and development as required.
