**Trainee Audit Assistant**

Our Stoke-on-Trent Audit team are recruiting an Audit Assistant, to join their highly supportive and successful team. Dains Audit team is rapidly expanding and recruiting a career focused, diligent Audit Assistant, looking to join a visionary and progressivefirm, who values and develops their people.

**Qualifications and Attributes**:

- To have a basic understanding of the effect of taxes on a set of accounts.
- To have a basic understanding of the technical aspects concerning a set of limited company accounts.
- To have a basic understanding of all current appropriate auditing and accounting practice.
- Ability to use/learn software and systems operated by Audit as appropriate.
- Attend courses (internal and external) to aid you on the capacity to fulfil your role.

**Key Responsibilities as Audit Assistant**:

- To carry out client audit work under the direction of the Audit Senior or Semi Senior using the firm’s approach.
- To investigate and resolve problems arising during the audit under the supervision of the Audit Senior or Semi Senior.
- To gain familiarisation with the client’s internal reporting and control procedures.
- To ensure the work is recorded in a clear and concise manner and working papers are legible and well presented.
- To bring to the attention of the Audit Senior or Semi Senior anything which is not understood, or which is inconsistent with expectations.
- To provide ad-hoc support to other members of the audit department as required.
