**Hours of work**:9am-6pmon a rota basis across 7 days

We are looking for a dynamic Catering Assistant to join our team at the Blue Planet Aquarium, working on the servery and till, in our ice cream parlour. You will providing exceptional customer service whilst serving ice creams and hot and cold drinks.

On occasion you may also be required to work on the servery in our Nautilus Kitchen restaurant, which is situated next to the main tank, giving unique views of one of Europe’s largest collection of sharks where our visitors can submerge under the water for a unique dining experience - no wetsuit required

You will mainly be working front of house in our Ice Cream Parlour, taking customers’ orders on the till, serving ice cream and beverages, cleaning and tidying the ice cream parlour. On occasions you may be required to support the Nautilus Kitchen restaurant and back of house team.

**Responsibilities**
- To enhance the customer experience at Blue Planet Aquarium by exceeding customer expectations through excellent customer service and delivering good quality food & drink.
- To serve hot and cold drinks and ice cream.
- To work on the servery / till predominantly in the ice cream parlour.
- To prepare food and drink to the highest standard, following all health and safety and hygiene procedures.
- To follow correct procedures, including till procedures / cash handling.
- To ensure all saleable products are on display, correctly priced and that stock levels are maintained as appropriate.
- To be cost conscious about wastage and portion size.
- To replenish and maintain food at appropriate levels and to ensure rotation
- To maximise the sales and spend opportunities by up-selling and suggestive selling.
- To assist in opening and closing the outlet in accordance with procedures.
- To help manage queues and assist in other areas as required including Retail and Visitor Services.

**About you**

You should be clean and well presented with great communication skills and be a real team player. Being organised and timely will be a big advantage to the role and help you manage orders or fulfil the role of expediter during peak trade.
