If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you We're currently, we are seeking two individuals to join us as DWP Peer Mentors, providing a unique chance to support others in their recovery paths.

This exciting pilot project bridges the gap between DWP Job Centres and Recovery Services, aiding individuals with substance misuse issues in accessing the support needed for employment. Our Peer Mentors will create safe spaces and offer one-to-one support to guide and empower individuals towards their goals.

This role is perfect for those wanting to make a genuine impact using their lived experience. We seek individuals who are compassionate, non-judgmental, and eager to develop within the substance misuse sector.

**Where**:Westminster or Lambeth

**Salary**: £23,251.47 - £24,466.99 plus £4,072.06 (ILW) Pro Rata.

**Hours**: 37.5 per week

**This vacancy is for a Fixed Term Contract until 31st March 2025**

**Responsibilities**:
**About the role**:

- Inspire and support Mentees in managing dependencies, accessing appropriate support, and moving towards employment
- Engage individuals on a one-to-one basis to understand their goals and aspirations
- Empower and build confidence in mentees, providing emotional support as needed
- Collaborate on action plans, reviewing and evaluating impact
- Work with individuals to increase their confidence, empowering and supporting them to achieve their goals
- Work closely with DWP work coaches and local substance misuse services
- Complete, review and evaluate action/impact/support/care plans with mentees

**About you**:

- Lived experience of substance misuse and recovery
- Strong written, verbal, and IT skills
- Ability to build relationships with empathy and non-judgmental approach
- Confidence working both independently and as part of a team
- Calm and collected under pressure
- Ability to work with professional boundaries
- Excellent time management skills, and an ability to work on own initiative prioritising accordingly
