We have an exciting job opportunity for the position of supervisor at Howe Hill for Young People (HH4YP) Working within the CYC Housing Options and Support Service we are looking to recruit a committed and enthusiastic person to provide high quality support to all staff and customers living in Howe Hill for Young People.

HH4YP is a resettlement hostel for young people aged 16-25 providing accommodation and support with a view to helping people move on into independent accommodation suitable to their needs.

The successful applicant will provide a well maintained and responsive Young Persons Accommodation Project to customers who are homeless and need supported housing. And will manage and lead the staff team within the service. You will manage and provide appropriate emotional and physical support to young people accessing who are vulnerable and under a lot of stress and therefore the successful applicant will have good interpersonal skills and will understand the issues young people face when homeless.

You will be capable of working on your own initiative under the guidance of a manager.

Experience of working with homeless people and management of supported accommodation and that applicants understand the issues surrounding the client groups is essential.

You will need to be able to demonstrate that you are sympathetic and firm and you are able to cope in situations which can be stressful as well as rewarding.

You will organise an ongoing staff rota to provide cover at the accommodation project on a 24 hour basis, 365 days per year, and will be expected to part of the shift rota patterns, and line manage Support Workers (day and nights) ensuring that they are properly trained, motivated and supported. You will take responsibility for ensuring the accommodation is kept in good repair in all matters of health and safety.
