Administration To have a through knowledge of all practice procedures To work in accordance with written protocols Reception Receiving patients and consulting with members of the practice team Handling repeat prescriptions for patients and checking names and addresses Appointments Process appointment requests for today and future appointments from patients by telephone and in person Organise for daily home visits Telephone Have a working knowledge of telephone/out of hours service, during and after hours Other tasks Ensure building security - have experience of end of day checks including doors, windows and alarms Any other tasks allocated by managers that are appropriate to the role of receptionist/administrator Personal/Professional Development: The post-holder will participate in any training programme implemented by the practice as part of this employment, such training to include: Participation in an annual individual performance review, including taking responsibility for maintaining a record of own personal and/or professional development Taking responsibility for own development, learning and performance and demonstrating skills and activities to others who are undertaking similar work.
