HR Compliance Officer

**MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- To support the nursery managers with the pre-employment check process, ensuring all areas of compliance are met, in line with safer recruitment. This will include ID appointments, checking right to work, referencing, DBS checking and ensuring new starter documentation is received and recorded appropriately.
- To manage the administration by processing employee contracts and any change to contract paperwork, ensuring information is processed, recorded, and logged accordingly. This could include salary increases, promotions, and change to hours letters.
- To support the nursery managers with the organisation of staff files and keeping these up to date.
- To support the compliance Area Manager in ensuring the nursery complies with all relevant aspects of the law, in particular the EYFS framework.
- To support the compliance Area Manager in ensuring policies are in place and reviewed in a timely manner and to monitor and audit implementation.
- To support the HR People Officer during annual leave periods.

**RESPONSIBLE TO**:Compliance Area Manager / Nursery Directors.
**SALARY**: £26,000-£30,160 per annum depending upon experience and qualifications.
**CONTRACT TYPE**:Permanent, Full-time (40 hours per week including paid breaks), core hours to be agreed.
**LOCATION**:You will be required to work at all Pumpkin Patch Nurseries but your base location will be Brighton. Other locations include Hove, Worthing and Steyning. Hybrid working available once competent in the role.
**SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS**:
- CIPD Level 3 qualification or above
- Experience in a HR or Compliance role
- Experience on-boarding new joiners and conducting pre-employment checks and safer recruitment
- Excellent attention to detail and prioritisation skills
- The ability to keep up to date with laws such as employment law, and adhere to and promote in-house policies
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Experience of working in a Nursery or School setting would be an advantage
