We wish to appoint an enthusiastic doctor to continue to develop the use of simulation in different training contexts. North Tees & Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust wants to optimise the use of simulation, enabling clinical leaders from all disciplines to lead a culture of patient safety and to ensure it is integral to organisational business.
Based on the Trust’s commitment to enhance patient safety through interprofessional simulation training, there is an emphasis on enhancing team working skills for undergraduate and foundation level trainees and other newly qualified staff.
It is anticipated that this posts will be held for one year and will combine some limited clinical duties with the opportunity to undertake research, development and teaching in simulation based training.
The Trust has and continues to invest in its, purpose built simulation centre within the Education Department, led by a consultant physician and with support from Simulation Clinical Educators, a Simulation Technician, and a wider collaborative team including: Simulation Clinical Educators, Clinical Educators, Nurse Clinical Educators and administration staff who support all aspects of training for staff and students at all levels. The primary aim of the role is to enhance patient safety through simulation training for interprofessional teams. This will also support the Trust’s work to address NCPOD recommendations for managing the deteriorating patient.
Improve patient safety using simulation based training and research techniques, improve patient safety and reduce the number of Serious Untoward Incidents (SUIs) across the trust and the wider health economy.
Improve training and development for all newly qualified staff, with particular emphasis on Foundation Level trainees and Assistantship schemes.
Assist in driving simulation based education within NTFT to help
Attend relevant meeting that simulation based education can be assist in patient safety.
Organise and deliver simulation based training.
Present monthly reports on simulation based learning

Recent clinical experience to equivalent of speciality training level 3 (ST3) in the UK OR have completed 4 years of post-graduate clinical practice since medical school, at commencement of the post, within any clinical speciality.
