Quality Assistant - Salary 23k -25k Dependent upon Experience
Lanchester Dairies is the Northeast of England’s largest independent Dairy, operating the highest quality process and packaging facility. As a result of our desire to ensure customer satisfaction at all times we have identified the requirement to strengthen our quality team with the addition of another Quality Assistant.
The successful applicant will join our dedicated team of employees at Lanchester Dairies to support the Technical Director in administering elements of the Company’s quality system, including product quality reviews, monitoring Critical Control Points and the company pre-requisites, selecting and preparing samples for external laboratory testing, internal testing on products, assisting in document control, ensuring that all BRCGS standard practices are maintained, recorded and any non-conformances reported as per the prescribed procedures, stocktaking amongst other quality department related tasks, to be discussed at interview.
Applicants should have a qualification in HACCP and Food Safety, experience in performing internal audits, have an understanding of BRCGS Food Standard compliance, excellent IT skills, proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Must be organised, a good team player and have great attention to detail. Previous experience of working within a food related industry within a quality environment is essential.
The Quality Assistant will work Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, further details on hours of work to be discussed at interview.
**Key Responsibilities**
Administer and develop the following elements of the Dairy Quality System:
- Product Quality Reviews
- Technical/Quality Agreements
- Self-Inspection
- Customer Complaints
- Second-level Batch Record reviews
- Creation of Certificates of Conformity and Certificates of Analysis (including regulatory requests)
- Preparation of documentation for EU release
- Validation / documentation store activities including pallet archiving / retrieving for all departments
- Update SOPs / FORMs, create new systems on a continuous improvement basis
- Collation of data for preparation of PQRs
- Document Control; the issuance and reconciliation of controlled documentation
- Ensure there are no overdue Quality System records that are attributable to your name.
- Support, as required, activities that relate to client audits and regulatory inspections.
- Keep abreast of and maintain systems in line with changing regulations and industry expectations.
- Constructively challenge deficiencies and inefficiencies.
- Identify and participate in continuous improvement initiatives within Quality.
