- We are looking for a highly motivated apprentice who is interested in working in Financial Services and wishes to pursue a career in Structured Credit within Asset Management. The Structured Credit team is part of the Private Markets business of M&G and manages structured credit portfolios for third party institutional clients.

This role helps fund managers to perform against their benchmarks and therefore the apprentice role will be supporting to assist fund managers to manage, report and monitor their funds and investments by undertaking the reporting and administrative responsibilities of structured credit funds.

Key Responsibilities for this role:
- Ensure that actions are in the best interests of customers and that they are treated fairly.-
- Ensure that proper standards of market conduct are observed.-
- Act with integrity and with due care, skill and diligence.-
- Responsible for producing monthly reports for structured credit funds-
- Responsible for communicating any hurdles clearly to other investment professionals.-
- Responsible for constant improvement of ‘house’ process and using the approved IT tools (Microsoft environment).-
- Responsible for delivering report in line with the agreed schedule.-
- Responsible for administrative tasks that support the efficient day to day running of the team.-
- Responsible for ensuring data quality of ABS instruments, developing an understanding of the key features and requirementsKey Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Confident communication skills, both written and verbal with the whole team and stakeholders both internal and external.-
- Efficient and proactive. Ability to manage processes and coordinating with different people.-
- High level of accuracy and good attention to detail as dealing with regulatory requirements within role-
- Structured approach to work and very well organised.-
- Can effectively manage day to day work, alongside apprenticeship qualification.-
- Can keep calm under pressure.-
- Moderate understanding of the MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).-
- A proactive team player who is confident about working with others but also independently and can promptly escalate any issue and work remotely where required.-
- Logical and analytical approach coupled with intelligence, passion and a drive to learn.-
- Ability to formulate own opinions by thinking analytically about problems, thinking “outside the box” to resolve issues where required.-
- Be data rational and have excellent numerical reasoning abilityWe are looking for a confident individual with a positive outlook, can-do attitude and aspiration to want to progress.

The successful applicant will have strong desire to learn and a genuine interest in the financial services industry and asset management/investments.

The applicant would ideally have an inquisitive nature and be curious.

Qualification Required:

- GCSE English and Mathematics (grade 4 - 9) AND Three A-levels (grade A-C) or equivalent

Future Prospects:
Upon completion of the apprenticeship, there may be opportunities for career progression within our Structured credit team or other relevant departments based on performance, business needs, and available opportunities. If recruited into a permanent role, the individual will follow the career progression applicable to the specific role/department.

Training Provided:

- As a Fund Management Assistant Apprentice with M&G, you will undertake the Level Apprenticeship. The Level 4 Investment Operations Specialist apprenticeship will be delivered through a blend of live online learning, pre-recorded lectures, and face to face inductions and masterclasses
