Job Title: Nursery Assistant

**Salary**: from £21,674 per annum

Location: Ellingham House Ellingham Drive, Ringwood BH24 3PJ

Ellingham House are seeking a Nursery Assistant to join their team in the 16 months - 2 Years room. Ellingham is set idyllically in a Georgian country house surrounded by 2.5 acres of lawns and woodland. In this safe space, our children have the opportunity to explore, stretch, and run as well as practise their climbing and balancing skills in the ever popular ‘bear cave’. The paddock is home to our friendly Valais Black Nose sheep
- Baarbara and Soozie. The children help the team care for them and learn how to stay safe around animals. The nursery has a real ‘home from home’ feel, with welcoming rooms specifically suited to babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers. The nursery is open 8:00am-6:00pm.

**As Nursery Assistant, you will**:

- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of every child, staff, parent and visitor at all times
- Understand the requirements of the statutory framework for the EYFS and staff:child ratios
- Provide engaging and purposeful experiences, environments and resources to children, that are appropriate to their age and stage of development
- Facilitate a strong key person approach to enable children to form secure attachments and cover all children daily when colleagues are absent
- Observe and support children’s development, update the EyLog system and children’s learning journals with accuracy and relevance, and seek guidance from colleagues or Room Leader if in doubt
- Provide the all-around daily needs of children, including their physical, intellectual, social and emotional development
