**Hybrid working, 2 days per week in Sheffield**

Fruition IT are recruiting a Technical Author on behalf of a market leading & scaling Tech4good business based in Sheffield.

**_What will I be doing?_**
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as product managers, developers, testers, marketers, and customer support, to gather information, feedback, and validation for the documentation.
- Use appropriate tools, such as word processors, content management systems, graphics software, and markup languages, to create and maintain documentation in various formats, such as PDF, HTML, XML, and Markdown.
- Test the documentation for functionality, completeness, correctness, and compatibility with different browsers, devices, and operating systems.
- Manage the documentation lifecycle, from planning and development to delivery and maintenance, and ensure that the documentation is updated and aligned with the product or service changes and releases.

**_ What do I need?_**
- At least 2 years of proven experience as a Technical Author / Technical Writer ideally within the software or technology industry.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in a clear, concise, and engaging manner.
- Strong knowledge of technical writing principles, methods, and techniques, such as information architecture, content design, content reuse, and content strategy.
- Proficient in using various tools and technologies for creating and managing documentation, such as Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, WordPress, Confluence, GitHub, Markdown, HTML, CSS, and XML.
- Familiar with the software development process and the agile methodology
- Detail-oriented, organised, and self-motivated, with the ability to prioritise, multitask, and meet deadlines.
- Curious, eager to learn, and passionate about technology and user experience.
- Team player, with the ability to collaborate and communicate well with different stakeholders and audiences.
- A bachelor's degree in technical communication, computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
