Working as part of the Infrastructure Directorates’ 1st Line management team, mobilise and deliver the “Major” infrastructure investments projects covering all Resilience Programme related projects to support and achieve the businesses capability and capacity requirement within a heavily regulated environment, inclusive of the achieving the right balance of safe, quality, cost effective and timely delivery.

What you will be doing:
With this exciting opportunity your key accountabilities will include:

- Provide the overall programme architecture to ensure delivery of the “major” projects and the right balance of quality, cost, delivery, and governance are applied
- Rigorously challenge thinking to drive pragmatism and simplicity into the projects to minimise cost and lead-time and optimise deliverability
- Lead, manage and coach the project delivery teams to ensure adoption of best practice in project management providing, the “Pitcher” role taking DBU customer requirements and delivering design and build solutions back to the DBU “Catcher” team for them to commission and consolidate the investment
- Collaborate with the key stakeholders both internal and external to create a proportionate and supportive environment to expedite and meet their requirements whilst safeguarding original project business case justification and objectives
- You will be able to demonstrate a breadth of organisational understanding across a range of functional areas, especially in Engineering. You are likely to have led or project managed substantial engineering work packages that have involved you making complex
trade-off decisions between Quality, Cost and Delivery. Your skills in this area may be
based on an Engineering or Technical degree.
- You will have strong finance and commercial skills and are likely to be able to share
multiple examples of substantial commercial negotiations or disputes that you have
played a central role in.

To be successful in this role you will need to have the following:

- Experience of delivering new facility construction programmes that have significant product assurance and safety considerations. This will ideally be in a Nuclear, or other highly regulated environment.
- You will have strong leadership, diplomacy, interpersonal relationship, and people management skills. You will be able to share the techniques and approaches that you have used in a range of collaborative and adversarial situations, both in individual and team environments and with external parties to deliver results.
- You will have strong finance and commercial skills and are likely to be able to share multiple examples of substantial commercial negotiations or disputes that you have played a central role in.
- You will be adept at balancing competing interests (financial, human relationships and organisational interests) and will be able to share examples of where you have needed to process large amounts of inputs and data to choose which to focus on to deliver a successful outcome.
- You are likely to be able to share a Project Management skills assessment (e.g., Association of Project Management) that you have completed recently which provides a quantified assessment of your experience in the areas listed above.
