Data already powers insights, products and capabilities in every part of Ocado Technology but we're really just getting started. We are looking to build a new UK-based Data Engineering team focusing on the Logistics & Supply Chain (LSC) stream with the mission to serve reliable and relevant product data to internal and external customers. This is important to help product managers make better decisions on how to take LSC capabilities to the next level. We also want to provide high quality data feeds to the retailers using our platform, enabling end-to-end visibility of our processes and driving improvements to their business and customer service.
- Build, deploy and monitor automated and reliable production pipelines, providing data we can trust.
- Build, own and enhance the data model and processes, in close collaboration with Product Analysts, Data Scientists, Data Producers, Product Managers and Software Engineers.
- Create the support process for production pipelines and participate in the on-call support rota.
- Define best practices in data engineering and support Product and Software Engineers in delivering good quality raw data.
- Prototype solutions using emerging technologies.
- Support the creation of the Data Engineering vision.
***What we're looking for**:
- Expert in using SQL in modern cloud-based data architectures, preferably GCP/Bigquery. Familiarity with transformation tools such as DBT or Dataform is a bonus.
- Experience programming with Python.
- Good understanding of data management and governance concepts (data quality, data observability and metadata management) in large scale Data deployments.
- Experience modelling data to support BI development and tooling (Looker, Tableau etc.).
- Someone who loves building scalable, resilient data products.
