**MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE**

You will support the administration of learning and teaching on Postgraduate Research Degree programmes at the university including MPhil/PhD and Professional Doctorate programmes which include taught elements. You will be expected to deliver a high-qualityadministrative service to students, colleagues and partners working in collaboration with academic and professional colleagues across the Faculty. You should be pro-active in your work and demonstrate flexibility in working with a number of individuals acrossdifferent programme areas including working with other administrative colleagues as part of a team.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Acting as a key contact point, building and developing strong collaborative, mutually supportive and effective working relationships with colleagues, students and external stakeholders to help solve problems, provide clear information, advice and guidanceand ensure the successful delivery of the programmes and student experience.
- Being an active member of the administration team.
- Taking responsibility for supporting the organisation of events, communications and student-related activity.
- Dealing with the administration of financial processes including expenses, purchase orders, invoice approval and accurate stipend and bursary data input.
- Supporting financial administration through excellent record keeping and the implementation of up effective and efficient monitoring and tracking systems.
- Contributing to the continuous monitoring of programme standards and administration, collating data, providing reports and supporting accreditation and quality assurance processes.
- Taking a lead on specific projects, activities and initiatives from time to time, to develop and improve processes and procedures.
- Assisting with induction, support and mentoring arrangements for new staff and the ongoing line management and/or supervision of staff as required.
- Providing support for other programmes on occasion, including providing cover for colleagues and undertaking other duties commensurate with the level of this role as may reasonably be requested.
- To actively follow and promote policies, including Equal Opportunities and Race Equality policies.
- To maintain an awareness and observation of fire and health and safety regulations.
- To carry out any other duties commensurate with the grade and purpose of the post.

**PERSON SPECIFICATION**
- Experience of working in a busy office environment, with excellent administration skills and an organised and flexible approach to work.
- Experience of working independently and as an active member of a team, supporting colleagues and contributing to the effective operation of the team.
- Experience of developing, maintaining, reviewing and improving administrative, management and information systems.
- Experience of financial administration.
- Knowledge of issues relating to Higher Education and/or experience of working in HE.
- Experience of maintaining a virtual learning environment, intranet or webpage.
- Excellent IT skills and particular strength in MS Office (including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint), using databases and video conferencing tools.
- Excellent record keeping skills and the ability to collate, analyse, interpret and disseminate high quality data appropriately.
- Methodical and accurate approach to work with attention to detail.
- Efficient time management with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage competing priorities.
- The ability to assess a situation and take appropriate follow up action.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
