We are looking for an enthusiastic apprentice to join our clinic co-ordinator teams within Therapies. Our clinic coordinators enjoy a close relationship with physiotherapists and occupational therapists whilst taking care of our Therapy outpatient appointment systems from referral to discharge.

You will be part of a supportive team at Leicester Royal Infirmary, Glenfield Hospital or Leicester General Hospital playing your part in welcoming patients into our busy departments alongside usingthe computerised appointments system to process outpatient Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy visits from initial referral through to discharge.

You must be aspiring towards excellent communication skills, initiative and the ability to organise and prioritise your daily workload. We will support you all the way whilst you also complete your apprenticeship academic work.
You will be required to work as part of the team and to provide a high-quality customer service to patients, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy staff, other professionals, carers, visitors, and agencies.

To provide under supervision reception and clerical duties within the physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Departments and contribute to the administration of the Therapy Service outpatient appointment systems from referral to discharge.

About Therapy

Outpatient Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists provide a wide range of services including paediatrics, burns and plastics, respiratory conditions, pelvic health conditions and musculoskeletal conditions. We offer hundreds of appointments a day over three hospital sites.
- To undertake a development programme leading to a National Standard/ Framework as part of an apprenticeship.
- To actively participate in their own development plan which will be agreed with the line manager and the training provider.
- Complete the Apprenticeships Standard/Framework within the agreed timescales.
- To provide the correct up to date information to patients, colleagues, other departments within the Trust, external organisations and the general public
- Communicating effectively with customers face to face, in writing, or by telephone
- Providing information and/or advice where appropriate or refer onto other staff members where necessary.
- Developing a good working knowledge of the service.
- Learning all aspects of appointment systems from referral to discharge
- Ensuring that confidentiality is maintained at all times
- Ensuring accurate record keeping and updating of information and systems as appropriate within the scope of the position[includes paper and electronic records].
- To take reasonable care to prevent injury to themselves or others who may be affected by their acts or omissions
- To co-operate fully in discharging the Trust policies and procedures with regard to health and safety matter
- To immediately report to their manager any shortcomings in health and safety procedures and practice
- To report any accidents or dangerous incidents to their immediate manager and safety representative as early as possible and submit a completed accident/incident form.
- To use protective clothing and equipment where provided
- Whilst the aim of the Trust is to promote a co-operative and constructive view of health and safety concerns in the organisation, all staff must be aware that a wilful or irresponsible disregard for safety matters may give rise to disciplinary proceedings.
