**Quality Assurance and Enhancement**

Hours: Full time

**Salary**: 28k-35k/year

Purpose of the role:
The Quality Assurance and Enhancement officer is responsible for supporting the realisation of the ESL’s academic vision through the improvement, process and appraisal of the ESL’s quality assurance and enhancement processes.

**Main duties and responsibilities**:
Provide professional management and administrative support within the ambit of Quality Assurance & Enhancement. This includes (but is not limited to):

- To work closely with the Quality Assurance team and academic director on issues relating to the national regulation and assessment of teaching quality, student progression and graduate destinations.
- Implementing, developing and update of quality assurance policy and procedures and related documentation
- To ensure that the ESL meets Office for Students (OfS) requirements on the timeliness, accuracy and accessibility of information on the nature of the student learning experience, to include oversight of all Programme Specifications and Handbooks.
- To support academic director on external reviews of academic quality and standards.
- To support the strategic review of ESL’s-wide policies and provision relating to quality and standards, to include proposing terms of reference, conducting research and agreeing outcomes.
- To ensure that the ESL meets the expectations for the UK Quality Code for Higher Education.
- Actively taking part in the periodic review of the academic quality and standards of the ESL.
- To manage the approval processes for new academic developments: to include liaising with senior academic staff on requirements.
- Support and advice for Student Services in areas such as student discipline, fitness to study.
- To help the SMT in the annual review and setting/monitoring key performance indicators.
- To manage the annual taught and research student experience surveys: to include designing, promoting and reporting on the results of the survey.
- To oversee a network of external examiners and internal moderators to each academic programme.
- To supervise the development, publication and evaluation of an Academic Development Handbook that provides a definitive guide to curriculum design, delivery and review.
- To participate in the annual Performance Development Review process.

**Education and qualifications**:
Essential: A Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university.

Desirable: A Masters qualification from a recognised university.

**Experience and knowledge**:
Essential:

- Demonstrable administrative experience, including minute taking and report writing.
- Sound knowledge of, or experience in, a Higher Education environment and UK Education Quality code.
- IT literate including proficient user of Microsoft packages: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Experience in UK educational policy development.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Desirable:

- Knowledge of current developments around regulatory frameworks and quality assurance within Higher Education.
- Experience in working in OfS or QAA.
- Experience of academic partnerships operations.
- UK Higher Education internal and/or external audit / review experience

**Skills and personal requirements**:

- Excellent written communication skills.
- High level skills in analysis and report writing and the creation of procedural documentation.
- Analytical skills, including the ability to evaluate and synthesise information in reports.
- Excellent interpersonal and team working skills.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of service provision.
- Excellent organisational ability.
- Proven ability to work on own initiative and with demanding workload.
- Proven ability to plan and manage a project to completion.

**Salary**: £28,000.00-£35,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Harbour, E14 9GE: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
