An exciting opportunity for an experienced Laboratory Technician to join an established and rapidly expanding manufacturer of speciality chemicals. Based in the Quality Control Department will be involved in analysing samples throughout manufacturing process’,goods in, shelf-life extensions, non-conformances and Research and Development.

As the QC Lab Technician you will support the Laboratory Manager as follows:

- Prepare samples and conduct routine analysis against strict methodologies.
- Perform laboratory tests to produce reliable and precise data to support all departments, scientific investigations, research and development and presentation to senior colleagues.
- Use computers and perform mathematical calculations for the preparation of graphs.
- Conduct searches on identified topics relevant to the department and research and development team.
- Assemble, maintain, and operate standard laboratory equipment.
- Arrange Preventative Maintenance, Servicing and Calibrations of laboratory equipment. Supervising attending engineers, as necessary. Ensure supporting documentation is received and stored.
- Maintain a clean, compliant, and organised QC laboratory and establish, review and update QC procedure

Your Profile:

- Degree in a scientific discipline or HND/ gai8ned through an apprenticeship as a Lab Tech
- Familiarity with working towards a production schedule in a dynamic and fast paced working environment and partnering with other teams to deliver excellent customer service.
- Experience in HPLC’s, GPC’s, Karl Fisher, Viscometer, IR, UV Spectrophotometer and pH and conductivity meters
- GC / HPLC and GPC’S Software
- Able to maintain technical equipment.
- Excellent oral communication skills and technical reporting of results and techniques to the interested parties.

Package:

- Attractive salary c£28,500 per annum
- 9% bonus

Full time shift of 4 days on and 4 days off - working times being 7am - 7pm with a 1hour lunch break.
