We are happy to announce we are hiring a talented and experienced individual to join our team as a Quality Control Technician for the labs in Haverhill. As a Quality Control Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability to help produce the best possible product.


Responsibilities

  • To test designated raw materials, intermediates and finished goods in accordance with defined test schedules
  • To assist in root cause analysis and continuous improvement projects
  • Throughput is such that the job holder will be required to prioritise the workload to accommodate the demands of production, despatch and goods-in functions
  • Prioritise and carry out testing with regard to requirements of despatch and production.
  • Prioritise and carry out required raw material testing
  • Pre-testing of materials to determine optimal retarder conditions prior to manufacture of certain products
  • Develop and maintain a good working knowledge of test methods and test schedules
  • Develop and maintain a good working knowledge of the product range, type and make up
  • Maintain accurate and timely QC records
  • Provide support for production trials, root cause analysis and improvement projects
  • Actively seek to improve laboratory working practices and methods
  • Operate to laboratory safe working practices and maintain a clean & tidy workplace
  • Liaise with production & goods-in re any QC changes or requirements
  • Process customer returns accurately and in a timely fashion
  • Identify consumable purchasing requirements
  • Maintain QC standards
  • Analytical testing of site failure samples
  • Fulfil any other reasonable responsibility or duty as identified or requested by the line manager or head of department


Note: In addition to these functions employees are required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required


Rotating Shift Patterns (change weekly)

Shift 1

  • 06:00 - 14:00: Monday to Friday

Shift 2

  • 13:30 - 22:00: Monday to Thursday
  • 13:30 - 19:00: Friday


Qualifications/education required:

  • Educated to GCSE level in English, Maths and a Science subject


Experience required:

  • Experience in a laboratory environment
  • Experience of multi-tasking and prioritising workload
  • Able to work well as part of a team and on your own
  • Proficiency in using basic laboratory equipment and computer applications
