Bristol, United Kingdom Second Step Full time

**Second Step **is a leading mental health charity in the South West offering housing, support and hope to thousands of people with mental health and other problems. Our goal is to inspire hope and deliver change for everybody and every community we work with.

Do you want to be part of a new and exciting way of working with people in Bristol who need support?

Do you want to work for a forward-thinking organisation helping people with mental health issues?

Do you have compassion and empathy for people who are struggling with their mental well-being?

If so, this could be the role for you.

**About You**

We’re looking for someone to support us to deliver a new service in collaboration with the South Western Ambulance Service in Bristol. We are looking for a Senior Recovery Navigator, who will ensure people with moderate-serious mental health needs are supported to connect to their community, to build resilience and to improve their wellbeing.

You’ll be a great communicator with people at all levels, with experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team, to promote the values and vision of the voluntary sector within an AWP environment. Working closely with partners, you will be responsible for the set-up, delivery, and on-going promotion of this valuable service.

You will hold a small caseload of clients who have multiple or complex support needs so you will need to have experience of working with people with long term mental health and complex needs, and of carrying out needs and risks assessments. You will need to be able to work flexibly with clients and take a holistic view, with a recovery and psychologically informed approach.

Working collaboratively with the client, and other health and care professionals, you will provide intensive practical and emotional support that is tailored to the individual. This may include things like attending an important appointment with them, connecting them to community activities like walking groups or giving them information about other services.

Second Step offers a blended approach to working - a combination of community-based, office and home working (dependent on the needs of the clients you support), ; an excellent annual leave package, support from our Employee Assistance Programme if you need it and a comprehensive induction programme with on-going training opportunities.

Closing date: Midnight on Monday 1st May 2023

Interview date: Week commencing 8th May 2023

The ability to travel to several appointments daily (including in rural areas with limited/ unreliable public transport) is essential
