**Interim Hs2 Project Officer - Housing**
**Reference no: Warwick 5229698**
**Pay Rate: £70.00 per hour PAYE**
**This opening assignment is for 6-7 months**
**Full driving license is required and access to a car for work purposes** To proactively lead on the District Councils response to HS2 to ensure that if implemented, Warwick District maximises any positive benefits and minimises any negative impacts from the proposal.
**Key Responsibilities**:

- To assess and report on all aspects of the impact of the HS2 proposal within the district.
- To proactively support and engage with members of the public; community groups; stakeholders and partners in their understanding of and response to the HS2 proposal.
- To liaise with all appropriate partners, stakeholders and other parties in coordinating all aspects of the District Council’s response to the HS2 proposal.
- Where necessary to defend the Council’s decisions at appeal and pursue the enforcement of planning control in respect of those proposals.
- To undertake any other work commensurate with the role including attendance at evening and out of hours meetings as required.

**Qualifications**:

- Relevant professional qualification.
- Membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute desirable.

**Skills & Experience**:

- Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role, or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
- Experience of helping to deliver good development in a professional planning role.
- Experience of delivering good customer service.
- Experience of delivering work to deadlines.
- Experience of administering systems.
- Knowledge of the purpose and objectives of Town and Country Planning and the role of the local planning authority in their achievement.
- Literate and numerate sufficient to produce reports and other assessments on planning matters.
- Map, plan and drawing appreciation skills sufficient to accurately assess physical characteristics of sites, buildings, infrastructure and other features.
- Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
