The Air Finance vision is to be an agile, high performing team integral to effective decision making for a world class Air Force.

The Air Finance Team consists of three functional areas; Finance Business Partners, Specialist Services and Finance Operations which all sit within the Director of Resources area of responsibility, interacting with numerous stakeholders across the Command.

This recruitment is for **1 AO position** within the Finance Operations Delivery team.

The team is made up of approximately 50 personnel, divided into 9 sub teams.

These posts offer the opportunity to build upon financial, communicating and influencing and leadership skills whilst working as part of a large, friendly and flexible team. We are looking for proactive individuals to produce timely and robust financial information and inform recommendations to Senior management. Job holders will be required to liaise with stakeholders including wider finance colleagues (Civilian and Military), RAF Stations and Units and Senior Managers; therefore, proven communication skills are essential.

Professional Finance qualifications are not essential. Air Command is building a learning culture within the Function and your continued development is important to us, therefore support may be available for you, to undertake further appropriate qualifications or attend CPD events.

We are based at Headquarters Air Command at RAF High Wycombe; an attractive place to work, located in the village of Walters Ash. There are good public transport links with regular bus services to/from Aylesbury and High Wycombe as well as free car parking on site.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week with an expectation to attend the office on a weekly basis. A reserve list will be created to allocate individuals to any additional roles that become vacant over the next 12 months.

**Job description**:
Finance Operations is responsible for conducting all foundation financial activities regarding Air Command through owning report production and initial financial analysis. The team provide an efficient and effective In-Year Management reporting function across various budgets for Air Command units.

The posts within the Delivery Support Team assist Finance Managers by:

- Liaising with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), including RAF Units and Stations, to scrutinise, verify, record and reconcile statements and invoices from suppliers relating to flying activity across the Royal Air Force.
- Building effective professional working relationships with suppliers, the wider finance team and SMEs across Air Command to resolve aviation fuel and civil landing invoice queries, in a timely manner.
- Administration of all aviation fuel cards issued across Air Command.
- Raising sales invoices to third parties.
- Recording documentation and audit trails supporting the civil use of military airfields across Air Command, including the issue of certificates where required.
- Reconciliation of aviation fuel uplifts and issues to/from foreign Governments where reciprocal agreements are in place.
- Reporting errors through system mis-bookings relating to invoices raised and received.
- Provision of timely financial reports to inform robust financial reporting into Air Command’s accounting systems.
- Assisting Finance Managers to obtain data from RAF Units and Stations to inform financial output and compliance with internal and external governing bodies.

These roles may also provide opportunities to travel to outlying RAF Units and Stations.

These roles are varied, and we work as a team, sharing workloads.

Experience of using Microsoft Office packages would be an advantage, particularly the use of Teams, Outlook and Excel.

We are looking for a team player that contributes to the shared goals of the area as a whole.

Someone who is able to work to deadlines and has an eye for detail would fit really well into this small but busy team.

Collaboration skills are important as you will be working with others both inside your immediate team and those in the wider Finance Operations team.
