Logistics Assistant

Working as a part of the logistics team you will be responsible for stock control, housekeeping and making sure materials
are picked and issued to the factories in a timely manner. You will pack finished product so that they reach their
destinations safely, securely, and on-time.
You will contribute to the companies supply chain management program through recording and reporting to the
commercial team. You will be expected to communicate with various levels of the organisation and customer
representatives such as delivery drivers and recipients of the finished product.
**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- To work as part of a team in the new group Logistics function.
- Maintenance of the storage areas, vehicles and equipment including statutory inspections.
- To booking and co-ordination of deliveries and dispatches.
- To ensure all group stock is received and checked for quality and accuracy and located into the stores area.
- To perform goods-in quality inspections as specified and accept/reject goods notifying suppliers and divisions of rejected
- items.
- Data entry, to ensure the ERP systems is updated for all receipts within 24 hours of receipt.
- To ensure materials are picked and delivered to divisional WIP/laydown area within 24 hours of issue.
- To manage, maintain and investigate quarantined and returned stock.
- Housekeeping, to maintain clean and tidy storage areas at all times, ensuring the most effective utilisation of space within
- the logistics yard.
- To maintain in good order the recycling, waste and chemical containers within the logistics yard.
- To purchase, issue and monitor PPE.
- To undertake audits on stock quantities.
- Adherence to the BMS / SHE compliance.
- Responsibility for health, safety and environmental issues within the stores area.
- To co-ordinate booking-in of deliveries from suppliers.
**SKILLS, EXPERENCE, TRAINING AND SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE**:
- Experience within a similar role
- Accurate
- IT literate, especially stock systems
- Forklift and reach truck qualified
- High level attention to detail
- Fastidious approach to housekeeping
- Thrives under pressure
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team

- Able to self-manage and apportion time effectively to complete tasks
