Job description

We are looking for a Head of Marketing to join the Marketing and External Relations (M&ER) team at Edinburgh Napier University (ENU) to cover a period of maternity leave (12 months).

**The opportunity**

As Head of Marketing you will be responsible for developing and managing the delivery of sector leading student recruitment marketing/performance campaigns, as well as brand and reputation activities, including our brand campaign. You will oversee the marketing provision for online, web and digital platforms and ensure all marketing activity builds the profile of the University and its five academic Schools with its key stakeholders and audiences both in the UK and internationally.

You will lead on the delivery of a relevant, dynamic marketing strategy for ENU in the UK and international markets including full budget management responsibility. You will lead and engage the marketing team (~20 FTE), managing all activity through (including media, creative and content) and ensuring campaign KPIs are tracked and met, meanwhile supporting team members to achieve their personal objectives.

**Who we are looking for**

We are looking for a degree qualified (or equivalent) marketing professional with significant demonstrable experience in a senior marketing role. Experience will include developing marketing strategies and tactics and ensuring their successful implementation as well as hands on experience, and deep working knowledge of, digital channels, platforms and communications. Delivery of web-based projects within this is also beneficial, including knowledge of CMS systems (Sitecore), search and landing page optimisation and onsite user experience.

Experience managing complex and varied marketing projects and teams, coupled with expertise managing change and nurturing/building teams are paramount for this role.

We are looking for someone with experience working closely and effectively with internal and external stakeholders and senior management teams, who is able to engage with audiences internally and externally. In particular, you will ideally have significant experience of working with creative and media agencies. You will have a track record of delivering and reporting on objectives, both for in-depth analysis within a marketing team and for sharing clearly for ‘non-marketing’ professionals. Management and successful delivery on multiple projects, juggling priorities and deadlines is also key.

**_ We are ideally looking for someone to be in post before the end of May, so a short notice period / immediate availability is beneficial._**

**_ The team work to a hybrid model, working remotely alongside key contact days. You will therefore need experience leading teams both in-person and remotely, and be required to travel to our campuses (primarily Sighthill) on a pattern to be determined by and agreed with the Director. _**
