**Job description**:

- The Digital Infrastructure (DI) Directorate plays a leading role across government, working closely with No.10, Cabinet Office, HM Treasury, Ofcom and industry to deliver new commercial deals, policy and legislation on digital communications infrastructure.
- The Wireless Infrastructure, Spectrum and Consumer (WISC) team within DI is responsible for ensuring better wireless connectivity across the UK. The team ensures that we are maximising the benefits from the development of future networks in support of the government’s broader public policy goals.
- It is an exciting time to join the WISC team, with the Wireless Infrastructure Strategy being published in April 2023. The Strategy set out Government’s new nationwide standalone 5G ambition and a suite of measures support. Specifically, the WIS sets out plans to ensure good connectivity for all, strengthen the investment landscape, realise the full benefits of 5G, drive adoption of 5G in key economic sectors and shape the development of 6G.
- The postholder will support with the implementation of the Wireless Infrastructure Strategy, tracking the status of key commitments and updating senior colleagues and ministers on progress as required. Within DSIT, we work closely with colleagues across the team, Wireless Infrastructure Policy, Spectrum Policy, and Consumer Policy. Beyond DSIT, we have extensive interactions with Ofcom, industry and other Government Departments and Bodies, including Defra, HMT and DESNZ.**Person specification**:
The postholder will:

- Lead on coordinating responses to commissions and briefing requests from DSIT strategy, No 10, Private Office and OGDs
- Support the project management for implementation of the Wireless Infrastructure Strategy and work closely with the wider team to track progress.
- Support with stakeholder engagement for the Wireless Infrastructure Strategy, including strategic engagement with the Mobile Network Operators and wider telecoms industry and with international stakeholders as required.
- Support colleagues in the wider team on related policy and legislation as necessary.
