- Are you an experienced finance professional keen to take on a new challenge?
- Are you able to be flexible and adapt to new developments in a fast-paced, deadline-focused start-up environment?
- Can you interpret complex financial information and relay this to non-finance colleagues in an engaging way?
- The Kent and Medway Medical School is looking for a Finance Manager, with a recognised accountancy qualification, to join the team to lead financial performance management.

- helping drive the activities and project work undertaken by the Finance Joint Service Delivery Team, collating information from colleagues across both institutions and NHS institutions.
- representing the School in financial fora at both universities as required, acting as the key finance contact and liaising with relevant central finance departments at both institutions ensuring all school processes remain compliant and in line with best practice.
- setting up new School level processes and procedures
- driving continuous improvement of processes within your remit and ensure any changes are effectively implemented.

To be successful in this role, you should be able to demonstrate:

- the ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders with excellent influencing and interpersonal skills
- experience of managing complex funding and financial regimes and scenarios
- experience of staff management and managing teams including setting objectives, monitoring performance, motivating and developing staff
- the ability to analyse, problem solve and make autonomous judgements, providing solutions working within financial rules and regulations

The role will be based across KMMS facilities both on the University of Kent and Canterbury Christ Church Campuses in Canterbury.
