**About the Opportunity**

Nuclear Power Programmes are delivering client critical works to some of our major UK and European Projects. Our embedded teams are delivering support to Hinkley Point C (New build power station in the South West), Sizewell C (located in the South East), helping develop technologies in SMR (Small modular Reactor) capability and working towards building Poland's first Nuclear Power station.

Working in both client facing and internal roles we are delivering major programme and project management capabilities throughout the project lifecycle. We are driving to deliver safe, high quality and to time solutions by thinking innovatively and working collaboratively.

We are seeking a Fluid System Technical Lead to provide technical support for the Hinkley Point C Project. This is a key role within our embedded team based at our Bristol office location. Hybrid working will be possible between the office and home around project commitments.

The Technical Lead will oversee the engineering activities within this scope of systems, including management of assignments and supporting the Group Leader in the management of workload and schedule, mentoring and supporting system engineers, cascading priorities to the system engineer and escalating difficulties to the Group Leader.

The Fluid Systems Technical Lead will have a key role to ensure the success of these transfers:

- Assessing the maturity of the systems transferred,
- Understanding the remaining design issues,
- Ensuring clear communication with EDVANCE France in setting up the to-do list and schedule for the transfer,
- Supporting the receiver system engineer in upskilling on the knowledge of the transferred systems.

Once the systems are transferred, the Technical Lead will oversee system activities such as:

- Preparation of the Systems Design Manuals
- Design of the systems (including definition of the P&ID, thermal-hydraulic calculations, safety features)
- Population of the “process” specification databases (DIAGRAMS, TAGS2D, DFD, CONDUITE, BANANAS, etc.)
- Preparation of documents for systems operations (Periodic test) as well as the requirements for Control & Instrumentation
- Management of the supplier feedback from contracts team impacting the design of the systems

**Here’s What You’ll Need**:

- Mechanical or Process Engineering degree or equivalent
- Working knowledge of process engineering, thermal-hydraulic calculations, fluid mechanics and modelling
- Experience in Nuclear design
- Knowledge of EPR system design principles
- Leadership skills to manage and lead a team including coaching
- Excellent communication skills - in particular when communicating with others based remotely
- Building strong relationships
- Challenging attitude and continuously looking for opportunities to improve
