Compensation: £49, - £61, (dependant on experience) + pension (up to 8% matched) + 25 days holiday

About the Role

As a Technical Lead within the Structures Team at Babcock International Group, you will play a key role in driving the development of technical capabilities to ensure we are fit for the future. You will work with our skilled team to deliver complex tasking to our key customers, developing and delivering workstreams, and being recognised as a technical lead responsible for undertaking technical tasking as well as leading the capability areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing workstreams and supporting key customers;
  • Solving in-service structural issues and defects;
  • Developing new technical capabilities;
  • Representing the Structures Engineering Team at Customer meetings, Working Groups and Conferences; and
  • Sustainment and growth of capabilities through training.

Essential Experience

  • Experienced Engineer with a marine structures background ideally with submarine specific knowledge;
  • Experience in management and delivery of technical outputs as well as coordinating and working with multi-disciplinary teams;
  • Scoping and quality assurance of technical projects;
  • Experience of leading project teams to successful delivery;
  • Evidence of coaching more junior engineers.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in a STEM discipline (or equivalent experience);
  • Chartered or Incorporated Engineer Status with the UK Engineering Council and holds full membership of a relevant engineering institute (or willingness to work towards chartership within first 6 months of employment).

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
