**As a Commercial Officer your main responsibilities would be**:

- Supporting the procurement or contract management of a multitude of contracts throughout the commercial lifecycle.
- Supporting the procurement and contact management of new contracts and/or existing contractual agreements.
- Undertaking market investigation & analysis
- Building and maintaining positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and suppliers
- Providing effective input and support in the delivery of commercial activities including market engagement, sourcing, contract transition, and contract management
- Leading the development and review of commercial products, coordinating inputs from stakeholders
- Providing administrative support to the commercial team, including responsibility for updating and maintaining contract information on Jaggaer (eProcurement solution)
- Promoting the sharing of best commercial practice to drive performance.
- Contributing to challenging costs and support value for money opportunities

**Essentials**
- Experience of supporting the delivery of public services procurement and/or experience of supporting the management of complex contracts
- Organised and motivated, with a realistic and pragmatic approach, keen eye for detail, be practical and focused on reaching a combined end goal.
- The ability to work well as part of a team, take ownership, give direction and feedback to colleagues.
- The ability to meet the challenges of change, encouraging and supporting others to do the same.
- Strong communication skills

**Desirable Skills**
- An understanding of associated supplier markets is advantageous yet not necessary.
- IT skills - competent in the use of MS Office, Word and Excel and able to quickly adapt to using new e-systems.
- Experienced with or able to become proficient in using Jaggaer (eProcurement solution)

**Qualifications**
- CIPS/IACCM desirable but not essential
