Plymouth, United Kingdom Plymouth University Full time

A unique opportunity has arisen for a researcher with expertise in qualitative, co-creation and implementation methods to work on the TULAY project, and make a real contribution to reducing health inequalities and improving population health in Low to Middle Income Countries.

Based in the Faculty of Health, the School of Nursing and Midwifery programmes in the fields of adult, child and mental health nursing and in midwifery have been designed with our students’ career and the future needs of the workforce in mind. The School works in partnership with local NHS trusts to drive forward clinical research and support students in their learning to become the best nurses and midwives they can be. State-of-the-art facilities and equipment help students maximise their potential and develop their core skills, preparing them to embark on exciting and rewarding careers. The School offers further support for student career and professional development in the areas of healthcare, surgical care practice, emergency care and general practice nursing. An interdisciplinary approach to research covers sustainability, the evolution of services, use of new genetic knowledge and technologies, the ageing population, use of internet and mobile technologies, changes in clinical education, contemporary nursing, and how knowledge is translated into practice and policy.

This four-year project recently funded by the NIHR, involves working in partnership with stroke survivors, carers and other key stakeholders to design and evaluate a self-management support programme that can be delivered in rural community settings.

The School of Nursing and Midwifery works in partnership with local NHS trusts to drive forward clinical research and champions an interdisciplinary approach to research that includes the evolution of services, the ageing population, and how knowledge is translated into practice and policy.
