We are seeking to appoint a high calibre Research Fellow with excellent quantitative data analytical skills and experience of aggregating linking, and interrogating geospatial and small area data, to support and contribute to the work of the Centre for Coastal Communities (CfCC) at the University of Plymouth who aim to understand coastal inequalities and their policy implications. This cross-cutting research fellowship will address several global challenges (poverty, good health and well-being, quality education, decent work and economic growth and reduced inequalities) and you will be working across a number of disciplines to develop methodologies that enable a deeper understanding of a 'coastal deficit'. Led by Professors Asthana and Agarwal, the CfCC aims to produce world leading research that provides the evidence base for policy development that will lead to measurable improvements to the lives of those living in coastal communities in the South-West, the UK and worldwide. The CfCC brings together over 30 academic staff and has developed a strong an external profile. Coastal communities have been identified as an important target for the levelling-up agenda. The CfCC is the first of its kind in the UK and we have played an important role in raising awareness about the coastal dimension to economic, health and education inequalities.

This is a full-time position working 37 hours per week on a fixed-term basis for a period of 48 months due to funding.
