**JOB ADVERT FOR SUPPORT WORKER - NW10 / UB5 / SL3**
Sarinitiy Homes is looking to recruit 3 Support Workers for it newly opened Semi-Independent
Unit. The post holders will be responsible for supporting our young adults and will be required to assist the day-to-day organisation and effective running of the service whilst maintaining the delivery of a high standard of work.
It is preferable that you have experience in working with children and young people and are experienced in knowing you can help to shape their future. Whilst the role has its challenges, the results you will see from the children you work with are inspiring.
**CAREER REQUIREMENTS**
- You will need to be able to plan out your shift and manage your time correctly and be able to exercise conscious control over the amount of time you spend on specific activities, to increase effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity.
- You will need to be able to refer to SARINITIY HOMES emergency protocol and follow it precisely and always follow all general protocol at all times (information will be given and training will be provided upon employment).
- You will need to be able to gather information from observations, conversations and meetings with LAC and Social workers. Reports will need to be filled in competently accurately and promptly.
- You will need to make sure that every young person is risk assessed prior to moving into the unit (information will be given and training will be provided upon employment).
- Your attendance and punctuality will need to be always of a high standard.
- You will need to be ‘abuse aware’ by following SARINITIY Homes safeguarding and protection from abuse procedure. (information will be given and training will be provided upon employment).
- You will need to be able plan and structure key work session with the young person
(information will be given and training will be provided upon employment).
- Once employed you need to be aware of and actively following all policies and procedures set out by SARINITIY Homes when necessary.
- You will need be able to identify the needs of the young person then plan out and arrange the support required to meet those needs by using the resources available to you.
- Level 2 Health and social care working towards level 3

- To attend all one - to - ones, appraisal interviews and co-operate in the regular review of this job description. Attend all team, departmental and organisational meeting is required.
- To act in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 when carrying out tasks associated with the collection, storage, manipulation, and monitoring of personal data.
- To act in accordance with the Health & Safety At Work Act (1974) and the organisation’s Health & Safety Policy Statement.

**PERSON SPECIFICATION**
**_Essential skills _**
- Has worked with young people in a face-to-face setting.
- Understanding of professional boundaries.
- Awareness of the housing and support needs of young people.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Clear written and verbal communication
- Ability to use Word and Outlook
- Able to lone work on own initiative as well as in a team setting
- Organised and able to meet targets
- Takes ownership of customer’s problems and expresses a balanced approach in delivering effective customer service.
- Able to create good relationships with and motivate young people
- Enthusiastic, approachable, and flexible
- Ability to work under pressure and make appropriate decisions.
- Able to climb stairs and respond/react in an emergency.
- Able to commit to a Monday to Friday daytime rota or evenings and weekend rota.
**_Desirable skills _**
- Worked with young people in a residential setting.
- Understanding of the Children Act
- Understanding of Leaving Care Act
- Attended training courses on Safeguarding & Protection from Abuse and Professional

- Willing to cover additional shifts in an emergency.
